Mission Statement


Our Mission

The Mission of Mattoon Huddle is to unite in an organized supportive effort, the parents, players, coaches, staff, alumni and friends of Mattoon High School Football so the program may reach excellence.  Mattoon Huddle shall support the program and assist the athletic department by raising funds and increasing community spirit in order to provide athletic opportunities that allow each student-athlete to grow as a player and a person, and to be better equipped to meet challenges on the field and in society.

We the members of Mattoon Huddle intend to:

  • Seek excellence for Mattoon High School Football;
  • Assist the coaching staff to ensure the long-term success of MHS Football
  • Increase community spirit and participation in MHS Football
  • Impact the program in a positive fashion through active participation of Mattoon Huddle membership
  • Promote positive and supportive relationship with coaches, staff, players, members and the community at all times
  • Operate within all applicable laws, rules, regulations and the highest standards of conduct of all governing bodies related to this group and MHS athletics in the State of Illinois and the United States of America



Regular Member: A person or entity who wishes to support Mattoon Huddle may apply for membership in the group by filing an application for membership along with funds to cover appropriate dues.

  • An application for membership shall be accepted or rejected by the Board of Directors within 30 days.  If rejected, any funds shall be refunded and a letter of explanation mailed to the applicant.
  • All Regular Members may participate in any regular or special meeting of the Huddle.  Each Membership, whether as an individual, a family, or a company, shall have one vote per membership for any official business or election.  A company hold membership must specify one person to represent for all official actions
  • Membership shall be for the period of June 1 to May 31 each year.
  • Members shall strive to maintain a good reputation in the community and not cause a negative or unfavorable reputation of the Huddle or its’ members.

Any member who brings a lawsuit against the Huddle or its’ Director will immediately forfeit their membership, dues and rights within the Huddle.

By submission of this Membership Applications, you agree to abide by the spirit and rules of this group, Mattoon High School and the Illinois High School Association (IHSA).
